“Composer Robert Paterson and librettist David Cote have created an effortlessly funny, clever and deeply resonant opera, in which the music and the story fuel one another to create an entertaining and meaningful theatrical experience. ” - Opera News
As a faithful supporter of new music, we are excited to invite you to a private and intimate workshop performance of "Masquerade" on Wednesday, May 25th at 6:30 pm at the National Opera Center (330 Seventh Avenue at 28th Street).
"Masquerade" is the final in a series of three short operas that comprise Three Way, a triptych on the future of love: android lovers, BDSM and the final frontier: multiple partners. With music by Robert Paterson and a libretto by David Cote, "Masquerade" is about a party at a country mansion where people from all walks of life come to shed outside selves, put on a mask and push the limits of erotic expression and face their deepest taboos.
Be the first to peek through the keyhole and witness this hilarious and daring new opera before it premieres at Nashville Opera and in New York in 2017. Following the performance, join the creators in a conversation with renowned licensed sex therapist Dr. Ian Kerner (author: "She Comes First"), followed by a lively reception.
Seating is extremely limited, so reserve your spot now for an erotic and exotic evening of music and camaraderie!
